This was our first published book. Compiled by Raymond Sears and Jonathan Foster, it flew off the shelves as soon as it was published and went to reprint within months of publication. It has subsequently been reprinted and continues to be a popular publication. It was published in time for our second exhibition at King Harold School which coincided with the Essex Heritage Year celebrations.
It has nine sections; Around the Town, Commerce and Industry, Some of the Pubs, Transport, Emergency Services, Wartime, Local People, At Play and Leisure, Royal Gunpowder Factory
